Overview
Set in 1930s Shanghai, the story opens with legendary gambler Gon and his vow to recover his father's casino from Shanghai tycoon Fung In his quest, he becomes acquainted with Sou and uncovers her fiance's nefarious conspiracy. Sou gives her heart to Gon, but he can't forget his old love Gu. Meanwhile, up-and-coming gangster Hui Man Keung is quickly making his name in Shanghai. Crossing paths during chaotic times, Hui, Gon, and Ding Lik become brothers and business partners, but Fung recruits Hui and Ding to his side through backhanded methods. Though deeply in love with Fung's daughter Ching Ching, Hui can only turn away from love and friendship when Fung's true nature is revealed. Fung, however, is not about to just let Hui walk away.

Overview
HOI does not die but he has lost his memory. He becomes a beggar. YAU runs Xanado again. YIU owns half of the shares. CHING comes across HOI. When YAU learns it he is frightened. As HOI has lost his memory, YAU bribes the leader of beggars to expel HOI from Shanghai. JO goes to find HOI but HOI has gone. YIU wants to get the whole casino. He nags at YAU in front of other people to make him discontented. Then he asks LIK to bait YAU to work against him. YAU is tricked and he wants to kill YIU but his plan is a failure. YAU has no option by run away. KEUNG finds him and kills him. KEUNG questions LIK about LAM's death. KI and CHING overhear their conversation and CHING is disappointed. She decides to leave LIK. HAU finds HOI in Tienjin but he has become a mentally ill man. HAU is depressed.
