Square Pegs was a Hong Kong television series 2003. The program's title is an abbreviated reference to the English idiomatic phrase "square peg in a round hole." The series was the runaway success of 2003, commanding a viewership of 3.5 million or roughly half of Hong Kong's population during the last week of its broadcast, and breaking TVB's ten-year ratings record. It also went on to win four awards for its two lead actors in the TVB 36th Anniversary Awards, and made both Roger Kwok and Jessica Hsuan household names in the territory.

Overview

FANG is shocked to know CHUNG’s birthday is the same as SHAUN. CHUNG secretly makes a gravestone for her deceased mother. When DIP is ordering the stone, she meets FANG and KWUN, and they are shocked to see MRS PAO’s is also called KUEN. KWUN reckons somebody has stolen SHAUN’s identity. She decides to find MRS PAO’s maid, AUNTIE LAN, to answer her queries. SHAUN is learning how to make a cake. But the others didn’t show their support. SHAUN feels hurt. At that night, he creeps into the kitchen secretly to learn how to roll the flour. He later makes chess cakes and basil cakes, everyone says it’s delicious. SHAUN makes FUNG losing his coins, so FUNG asks him to use the chess cakes as compensation. FUNG is excited when he smells the taste of basil cakes. “Hero” steals the basil from the DING family, and breaks the whole plate of basil. SHUAN brings the destroyed herbs to seek FUNG’s help……
