Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed by Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on 18 August 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. On 8 June 2010 the story moved on several years and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went to air on 19 June 2011.

Overview
Gangdhar is inconsolable at Laxmibais betrayal and starts to drink. Meanwhile, Sunder is inconsolable that the king had spoken to her about Samars arrest, thinking she was the queen. She decides to confess the truth to him. Sunder is about to meet Gangadhar but Aaishri stops her. Gangadhar's dove, Saawariya, brings Gangadhar's portrait to the place where Laxmibai is staying with the ascetics. However, just then, Shraddha, Acharyas daughter, arrives. Laxmibai reveals her name as Manu to them. A drunken Gangadhar Rao orders Motibai to dance, and she is forced to perform for him. However, he voices his displeasure at the way she danced, and collapses. Saawariya drops a flower on Gangadhar. On the other hand, Laxmbai prays to the Lord to protect Gangadhar. Sunder secretly enters Gangadhar's room and confesses the truth to him.
