Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed by Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on 18 August 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. On 8 June 2010 the story moved on several years and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went to air on 19 June 2011.

Overview
Laxmibai tells Samar Singh that she will take Gangadhar Rao back to Jhansi, along with the treasure. She also tells him that Gangadhar had made a deal with the British to give him the administrative powers of 11 villages if he returns the treasure. Karma overhears their conversation and instigates the villagers to kill Gangadhar and acquire the treasure. Lord Dalhousie sends a letter to Sakhubai, Jankibai and Lacho asking them to vacate the palace by next morning. Karma and his group of revolutionaries try to stop Laxmibai from taking Gangadhar Rao to Jhansi. But Laxmibai vows to kill anyone who tries to stop her. Karma asks Laxmibai what relation she has with Gangadhar. Tatya Guru arrives and explains to the revolutionaries, how important it is for Gangadhar Rao to return to Jhansi. Inspite of this, Karma rushes ahead to kill Gangadhar, but Laxmibai counterattacks him. Laxmibai promises the villagers that she will never break their trust.
