Overview

Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed by Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on 18 August 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. On 8 June 2010 the story moved on several years and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went to air on 19 June 2011.

Overview

Laxmibai decides not to tell Gangadhar anything until she gathers enough proof against the conspirators, so she says that even she does not know who they are, and that she only happened to see the bell falling on him. Tatya Dixit gets medicines for Laxmibai, but Gangadhar wants it tested first. When Gangadhar is satisfied, he asks Tatya Dixit to give his queen the medicine. However, Tatya Dixit pours medicine from another pouch into the milk, and Laxmibai drinks it. Gangadhar tells Laxmibai that he is going to Lord Shiva's temple so that the evidences are not tampered with. Gangadhar inspects the burnt rope in the temple and investigates the cause. Tatya Dixit apologises to Laxmibai for the untoward incident as he was in charge of the ceremony. Meanwhile, Sakhubai and her accomplices hope that this time their pawn would not miss his target.Tatya Dixit assures the conspiring ladies that he has personally administered poison to Laxmibai, and she would not be able to save the king now.
