Overview

Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed by Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on 18 August 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. On 8 June 2010 the story moved on several years and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went to air on 19 June 2011.

Overview

Laxmibai tells Moropant that she did her duty as a queen when she saved Samar and Karma. Moropant chides her that she should have waited for Tatya Tope to free Samar and Karma. Laxmibai tells her father that she is equally shattered on losing her unborn child as any other mother would be. Laxmibai laments that Gangadhar has gone to remarry as he does not love or trust her anymore. Gangadhar is haunted by Laxmibai's pleas for justice. In the court proceedings against Samar and Karma, the lawyer builds a strong case. John Lang demands judicial custody of Samar and Karma. Samar and Karma thank Laxmibai. Laxmibai tells them that she will never let anything happen to them as they have to drive out the British battalion from Jhansi. Nelson meets the jailor and makes an evil plan. He plans to keep Samar and Karma with the most ferocious prisoners so that they will be killed and Nelson will not be blamed. He keeps Samar with Fateh Singh and Karma with Jwala, who are deadly and cruel criminals.
