Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani... Jhansi Ki Rani is an Indian historical drama based on the life of Lakshmi Bai, the Rani of Jhansi, one of the leading figures of the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The series was directed by Jitendra Srivastava and written by Rajesh Saksham, Ila Dutta Bedi, Malavika Asthana and Mairaj Zaidi. It premiered on 18 August 2009 on Zee TV with Ulka Gupta playing Queen Lakshmi Bai. On 8 June 2010 the story moved on several years and Kratika Sengar portrayed the Queen from there on. The show's last episode went to air on 19 June 2011.

Overview
A furious Laxmibai asks Shyam Chaudhary and the other treacherous traders to leave Jhansi for supporting the British and not protecting their motherland. Shyam Chaudhary apologises to her and promises to lend her his support. Moropant tells Laxmibai that Anand needs to perform a ritual and be cleansed with Holy Water. When the ritual gets completed, Moropant and the others are shocked to see that Anand is missing. A worried Moropant informs Laxmibai that Anand is missing. Hamilton, who arrives in Jhansi, sees Anand alone and crying in the forest. He realises that Anand is the Prince of Jhansi. Later, the East India Company flag is hoisted at the Commissionerate by Hamilton. Just then, he sees Anand crying and his dogs barking at Anand. Meanwhile, Laxmibai pleads with her subjects to help her find Anand. Ellis too promises to trace Anand. The wicked Hamilton decides to set his dogs loose on Anand.
