Mahmud's arrival marked the downfall of Çandarlı, who realized his fate was sealed. Meanwhile, Janissaries threatened to revolt to prevent Çandarlı’s execution, despite Kurtçu's attempts to calm them. The rebellion ensued, and a trial was held where Mehmed stood as the plaintiff and Çandarlı as the defendant before Hızır. Found guilty, Çandarlı was sentenced to execution, officially marking the end of his era.
