Overview
Set during the Qing Dynasty of China in the mid 18th century, the drama tells the story of a stubborn official adviser, Chau Bing, and his relationship with the young county official, Shum Kwan-Pok. Bing obtains a secure job as Kwan-Pok's private adviser and the two become good friends. They both try to root out corruption within the Manchu government.

Overview
Shanxi Official WONG CHING comes to Jinshan County and he wants POK to hand over the important criminal YAN CHEONG SHING to him. POK discusses the case with PING and PING realizes that the thief he caught has actually murdered 7 people. POK and PING go to question SHING. SHING used to be the supervisor of a granary in Shanxi. He reveals that he is framed by some Shanxi officials after realizing that they have committed corruption. POK wants SHING to give him the evidence on the case so that they could report it to the government. CHING comes to look for SHING and PING tries to hold him up so that POK could leave secretly.
