Overview
The story follows the lead characters through their experiences as members of the Police Negotiation Cadre (PNC). The PNC is a volunteer unit of the Hong Kong police force specializing in negotiations with terrorist members, partakers of local violence, and individuals contemplating suicide. The whole series is dotted with both large and small cases handled by the story's heroes and heroines.

Overview
KIT comes across a case with a pregnant woman, FONG, who has not yet married and attempts to commit suicide. KIT makes FONG understand that the child is innocent and tells her that how anxious she was as she is also pregnant. FONG is moved. KIT decides to keep the baby. CHLOE cannot accept TSUEN’s death and proposes to suspend her duty in PND. KWONG brings CHLOE to see WU. However, CHLOE resists WU’s treatment as she has suffered a great blow. WU changes the approach to treat CHLOE. He helps CHLOE to release her pressure and emotion. KIT goes to the hospital for an inspection. She sees FONG’s father who is quarrelling with FONG’s boyfriend, WING. KIT then learns that FONG is a victim in a rape case and WING has abandoned her. KIT encourages FONG to report to the police so as to have the rapist restrained by law. The newspaper keeps on reporting KIT’s single-parent status in a very negative way.… ...
