Overview
The story follows the lead characters through their experiences as members of the Police Negotiation Cadre (PNC). The PNC is a volunteer unit of the Hong Kong police force specializing in negotiations with terrorist members, partakers of local violence, and individuals contemplating suicide. The whole series is dotted with both large and small cases handled by the story's heroes and heroines.

CHLOE and KWONG are in the same team during the training. KWONG is not serious and affects CHLOE’s performance. KWONG and CHLOE’s performance are bad. KIT announces in public that they are the worst team. CHLOE is shocked to learn that WU and KWONG are brothers. TUNG invites CHUNG to attend a gathering. CHUNG is not very sociable and he felt very uncomfortable. TUNG sends CHUNG home. He finds that CHUNG does not return home after the gathering. TUNG questions CHUNG. CHUNG admits that he has had an affair. TUNG saw that KWONG always flatters CHOLE, he thought that KWONG is only keen on courting girl. TUNG is very dissatisfied with KWONG. Once, KWONG has made a mistake. TUNG insults KWONG in public. This insult stimulates KWONG’s pugnacity. KWONG is determined to become the best cadet. CHING is sick.
