Dale Schacker (born June 7, 1952) is an American composer, arranger, and music producer known for his prolific work on animated television series during the 1980s and 1990s. He is best recognized for scoring action-adventure and children’s programs such as Voltron: Defender of the Universe, Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Denver, the Last Dinosaur, Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys, and contributing to documentary projects including Mike Harris’s Search for the Titanic (1981) and Return to the Titanic (1981). Over his career, Schacker developed energetic orchestral and thematic scores that defined the sound of syndicated animation in that era. He served as music supervisor, composer, and arranger across numerous series, and his work has endured in popularity among fans of retro animation, with select themes later released on CD and streaming platforms.
