Björn Almgren

Björn Almgren is a Swedish professional musician, saxophonist, composer, and bandleader with over 25 years of experience in jazz, pop, and contemporary music. Almgren is also a trained music teacher. He is best known for his work with the ensemble Augustifamiljen, which formerly served as the house band for the popular Swedish TV quiz show På Spåret, and for his collaborations with prominent artists such as Håkan Hellström, Avantgardet, Jens Lekman, and The Tallest Man on Earth. In addition to ensemble work, Almgren leads his own jazz projects, performs as a saxophonist, and participates in experimental music ensembles that blend jazz, pop, and world music influences.
