Ashely Tyler

Ashley Tyler is a Chicago based writer and director. Her work speaks to the lived experiences of Black people. Professionally, Ashley has worked with Free Spirit Media, participating in their Industry Pathways Cohort program. Her short film script, ‘My Name Is’, was selected as runner up in Free Spirit’s annual pitch competition. She also developed a narrative short titled ‘Betts’ while participating in the University of Chicago Production Institute and Community Film Workshop. Currently, Ashley is developing a feature documentary on the legacy of the Black Coptic Church in America.
