Amartya graduated in Mass communication and videography from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata in the year 2020. Afterwards he joined a film school but was quick to drop out as he felt it wasn't adding any additional value to his life and realised that working in the industry itself is a better way to learn. Since 2022 he has worked as an associate and assistant director in numerous short films, advertisement films and corporate films in Kolkata. Tuta Aayna (Through A Shattered Mirror) is his first independent short fiction.
