Biography

Born and raised in New Zealand, Felix Hannah came to filmmaking right at the very end of his teenage years. Inspired by the modern filmmakers of the 20th century, Hannah’s films deal with Sexuality, violence, queerness and misogyny in the modern day. Enamoured with both film imperfections and digital artefacting, his films are imbued with a constant sense of rolling motion, worlds and lives in upheaval, where the exact shape and meaning of things is unclear. As a director, Hannah cites the filmmakers Michelangelo Antonioni, Nagisa Oshima, Robert Altman and Claire Denis as his central influences.
