Biography
Jada Trabue is a filmmaker from Louisville, KY whose love for horror began in childhood, when her stepdad introduced her to the genre with 4D-style basement screenings of A Nightmare on Elm Street. What began as fear turned into a lifelong fascination with the uncanny, the off-kilter, and the transformative power of visual storytelling. Her work is defined by bold imagery, atmospheric tension, and a natural instinct for turning familiar spaces into something deeply unsettling. Drawing inspiration from Stanley Kubrick, the raw chaos of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and the stylized eeriness of Ti West’s Pearl/X series, Jada crafts horror that is both intimate and cinematic—anchored in character, mood, and meticulously constructed visuals. Her latest film, Saint Marvek, is currently on the festival circuit and has already earned an Honorable Mention for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, following the success of her award-winning short Don’t Wake the Baby.
